Jonathan Perrelle is a seasoned litigator with significant experience in commercial disputes. Jonathan has litigated matters involving federal and state securities law, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty in state and federal courts, and argued at the trial and appellate level. His primary areas of practice include complex commercial litigation, representing individuals and institutions in the securities industry in litigation and regulatory proceedings, and white collar defense and internal investigations.

Jonathan is a summa cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School, where he served as Executive Notes & Comments Editor for the Brooklyn Law Review, and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Kauff Laton Miller LLP, Jonathan was a litigation associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP and a litigation boutique. Jonathan also co-founded and served as legal counsel for a biotechnology start-up.

• Representation of major financial institution in securities fraud disputes with SEC, NYAG and shareholders.
• Representation of board of directors of international automotive company in a dispute before the Delaware Chancery Court regarding board’s approval of a merger agreement. Prevailed in opposing plaintiff’s motion for preliminary injunction to enjoin proposed merger, allowing merger agreement to be voted upon by shareholders.
• Representation of trustees of a Trust in a dispute concerning validity of their appointment. Secured favorable judgment after arguing matter before New York State Surrogate’s Court and the Appellate Division, Second Department.
• Representation of individual in dispute concerning disposition of her deceased spouse’s cooperative apartment. Secured favorable settlement after defeating opposing party’s motion for summary judgment at both the trial and appellate levels.
• Representation of individual in breach of contract dispute regarding the disposition of real property that had been stolen by the Nazi-era German government, which resulted in a favorable settlement.
• Representation of business trust in a dispute arising out of the sale of a $300 million real property interest.
• Representation of one of the principals in various real estate entities in dispute concerning the management of the entities, which resulted in a favorable settlement.
